Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johan Herberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Culver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jens Culver will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jens Culver!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Culver.
Culver looks to land a body kick but Herberg moved away.
Culver rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Herberg moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Culver misses with the combination.
Herberg slips a jab and a cross from Culver.
Culver misses with a two punch combination.

Herberg fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Culver sprawls well initially but Herberg persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Culver pushes Herberg off looking to stand but Herberg dives back in and keeps control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Herberg connects with a nice short shot to Culver's temple.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Herberg seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Culver for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Johan Herberg just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Herberg is nestled in close to Culver, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Herberg looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Culver with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Culver has hold of Herberg's hands but Herberg slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Herberg has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Herberg is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
A big shot lands for Herberg! That's hurt Culver! Will he recover? Herberg fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
