Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charles Norris (ranked 4070 p4p, 5757 weight class) and Carwyn Roberts (ranked 500 p4p, 608 weight class). Carwyn Roberts is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Charles Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carwyn Roberts!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts misses with a looping left.
Roberts is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Norris.
Norris's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Norris duly obliges.
Roberts circles away from the clinch attempt.
Roberts is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Norris with a body shot.
Good shot there by Norris.
Norris tests Roberts's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Roberts misses with a left hand
and Norris connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Roberts throws the left hand but Norris avoids the punch easily.
Norris throws a counter high kick but Roberts was just alert enough to avoid it.
Roberts is still on wobbly legs! Can Norris finish him?
Roberts throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Norris sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Norris misses with a two punch combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Roberts! But no joy.
Norris throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Roberts seems to have recovered his senses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nice combo by Norris! Oh, that's hurt him - Roberts falls to the canvas and Norris follows him into side control.
Roberts gets back to half guard.
Norris is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Roberts reverses the position - he's now on top in Norris's guard.

Norris has an active guard here but Roberts has managed to pass into half guard.
Well, if Roberts is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Roberts looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Norris with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Norris has hold of Roberts's hands but Roberts slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Roberts looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Norris is looking to get back to full guard here but Roberts has managed to pass to side control instead.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Roberts cracks Norris with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Norris looks to move to half guard but instead Roberts has passed into mount! Damn!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Roberts cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
We've been informed that Roberts has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Roberts lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Norris is in all sorts of trouble here.

Let's hope that Roberts has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Roberts lands a heavy elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Norris tries to reverse the position but Roberts maintains control.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Carwyn Roberts will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Norris tries to close the distance and clinch but Roberts swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Norris slips a jab and a cross from Roberts.

Roberts takes one on the button.
Norris tries to clinch there but Roberts circles away.
Norris looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Norris throws a head kick that misses.
Norris fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Norris works the jab nicely.
Roberts takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Charles Norris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nice straight punches there by Norris. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Norris.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Norris lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Norris closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Roberts! Norris dives in looking to finish! Roberts is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
