Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Benny Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexander Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns closes the distance and clinches.
Burns creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Shaw tries to break the clinch but Burns is controlling the position.
Shaw blocks a body shot from Burns.
Shaw tries to break free but Burns pushes him back against the cage.
Burns has Shaw pressed against the cage, preventing Shaw from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Shaw is trying to push Burns away but Burns has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Burns comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

It looks like Alexander Shaw has been cut.
Burns stalling in the clinch.
Shaw wants to get back to striking at distance but Burns won't allow it.
Shaw tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Burns's elbow.
Shaw pushes off an throws an elbow but Burns leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Shaw is looking to break free of the clinch but Burns has double underhooks.
Shaw wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Burns has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A body shot lands from Burns.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Burns.
Shaw takes a knee to the side of the body.
Shaw looks winded!
Burns tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Burns.

That has opened up Alexander Shaw's cut even more.
Burns gets through Shaw's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shaw is trying to force a seperation but Burns has the dominant position.
A hook to the body from Burns.
Nice body punch from Burns - that landed with a thud.
Stalling in the clinch from Burns.
Shaw wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Burns has him pressed against the cage.
Burns connects with a nasty looking knee right to Shaw's face.

Shaw is rocked!
Burns has Shaw pressed against the cage.
Shaw is still on wobbly legs! Can Burns finish him?
Burns pushes Shaw back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Shaw seems to have recovered his senses.
Burns has Shaw pressed against the cage. He pushes Shaw back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Burns throws a beautiful elbow that sends Shaw crashing to the floor! Burns piles on the pressure with more strikes! Shaw is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benny Burns!
Benny Burns decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
