PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between TJ Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sedrick Samuels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes into the arena with Kings and Queesn - Aerosmith blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samuels fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Williams thuds a left hand into Samuels's body.

and Samuels counters with a shoot takedown. Williams fights it but they end up in guard.

Williams is looking for a triangle but Samuels pushes his legs off easily.

Williams bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Samuels's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Samuels creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Williams sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Williams is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Samuels is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Williams wants to stand and escape but Samuels is having none of it.

Williams escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Samuels gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Williams had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Samuels is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Williams Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Samuels's back instead.
