Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Neville Southall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Gniewomir Lach!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lach throws a leg kick which misses Southall's front leg but catches the back leg as Southall tries to avoid it.
Gniewomir Lach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lach misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Southall.
Lach looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Lach is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Southall.
Southall quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Lach moves out of range as Southall strikes.
Lach is looking for the big counter here.
Lach is looking to score with low kicks.
As Lach tries to get set, Southall tries to push him back and clinch up but Lach manages to avoid the attempt.
Lach throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Southall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lach tries a quick counter leg kick but Southall is wise to it.
Lach rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Southall moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lach looks to land a combination but Southall avoids it well.
Lach throws a right and a left that Southall avoids nicely.
Southall is looking to counter the offense by Lach and move into the clinch.
Southall uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lach.
Lach cracks Southall with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Neville Southall has been cut.

Lach drops Southall with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Southall looks back up at him and smiles so Lach waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lach throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Southall counters with a nice leg kick.
Southall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lach.
Southall connects with a leg kick.

A low kick lands for Southall.

Southall shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Lach keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Lach holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Southall looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lach with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Southall prevents Lach from improving his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Southall in particular looking to stall.
Southall drops an elbow to the side of Lach's head.
Lach is not content to let Southall control the position.
Lach avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Southall.
Lach tries to get to full guard but Southall has control of the leg.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Southall thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lach's head.
Southall is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Southall tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lach knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Southall throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Southall not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Southall seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Southall is trying to control the action in half guard but Lach is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Lach manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Southall keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Lach lands an uppercut.
Southall avoiding damage.
Southall misses with the head strike.
Lach lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Southall fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Lach stops a takedown attempt from Southall.
Lach misses with a hook from the clinch.

Lach breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lach lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Southall at a distance.
Southall lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Gniewomir Lach has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lach misses with a series of wild punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Southall.
Lach cracks Southall with an open hand slap.
Southall has been working on his balance at Tran MMA Gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Lach.
Lach scores with a nice strike.

Neville Southall's cut is getting worse.
Lach blocks a head kick by Southall.
Lach swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Southall counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lach has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A solid leg kick lands there for Lach.
Southall scores with a nice strike.
No joy there for Southall, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lach jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lach fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That kick from Lach tenderised Southall's leg. Southall is trying to keep his angry face on.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Gniewomir Lach dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Horrible takedown attempt by Southall or perhaps it was just good defense by Lach, which made it look bad.
Southall shoots in for a double leg but Lach sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Southall quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Lach scores with a nice right hand.
Lach misses with a straight left.
Lach takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lach lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Southall circles away quickly and effectively.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Lach. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Lach slaps away a takedown attempt from Southall, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neville Southall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Southall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lach sprawls well. Lach wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Southall gets slowly back to his feet.

Lach takes a kick to the side of the head.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Lach knocks Southall out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Gniewomir Lach tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
