The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manik Jr shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Venegas manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Venegas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Manik Jr's waist but Manik Jr gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Venegas off to one side.
Manik Jr tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Venegas manages to circle out of the way.
Manik Jr seems to have got his legs back now.
Manik Jr tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Venegas defends well and Manik Jr ends up having to push Venegas into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Venegas is trying to drag Manik Jr to the mat but Manik Jr just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Venegas is trying to trip Manik Jr. He has hold of a leg but Manik Jr is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Venegas persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
