Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leggo Brandon (ranked 4588 p4p, 4120 weight class) and Inaki Gurgel (ranked 561 p4p, 523 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Leggo Brandon has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Leggo Brandon seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leggo Brandon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Inaki Gurgel!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gurgel darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gurgel is keen to just control but Brandon is a slippery customer.
Gurgel is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Brandon is trying to control but can't.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gurgel in particular looking to stall.
Gurgel trying to mount his opponent but Brandon defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gurgel decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Brandon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gurgel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Gurgel tightens his grip and picks Brandon up, before dumping him to the ground. Brandon manages to land in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gurgel advances nicely into full mount.
Gurgel lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Gurgel swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Brandon is now in Gurgel's guard. A big mistake from Gurgel there, giving up the dominant position!
Gurgel pulls Brandon in close to his closed guard and prevents Brandon from doing any damage or advancing position.

Gurgel wants to stand up but Brandon is controlling him.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gurgel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brandon sprawls well. Brandon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gurgel gets slowly back to his feet.
Brandon keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Gurgel takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Brandon moves into the clinch.
Brandon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Brandon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gurgel.

Gurgel raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Brandon moves in looking to clinch but Gurgel pushes him off.
Gurgel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brandon swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Leggo Brandon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Inaki Gurgel.
Brandon closes the distance and pushes Gurgel back into the cage.

Gurgel on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Brandon jumps guard and drags Gurgel to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Brandon doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Brandon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gurgel passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brandon seems a little lost for a moment, as Gurgel dominates the positioning.
Gurgel decides to stand back up.
Gurgel misses with a series of wild punches.
Brandon tries to clinch but Gurgel is having none of it.
Gurgel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brandon seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Leggo Brandon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gurgel swats away the attempt to clinch by Brandon.
Brandon throws a head kick that misses.
Brandon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gurgel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Gurgel throws out a powerful jab.
Gurgel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brandon sprawls well. Brandon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gurgel gets slowly back to his feet.
Gurgel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Brandon is looking for a sweep. Gurgel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gurgel moves nicely into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gurgel lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Brandon down.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gurgel controls the position.
Gurgel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Brandon tries to bench press Gurgel off him but Gurgel keeps the position.

Gurgel has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Brandon throws a sloppy head kick
and Gurgel counters with a left and a right that stings Brandon.
Brandon darts in trying to clinch
and Gurgel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brandon won't be happy with that.

Gurgel stands up and beckons Brandon to his feet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gurgel cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Gurgel quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Gurgel but it's paid off an Brandon is forced to tap! Nice work by Gurgel.
