Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Ribeiro (ranked 21777 p4p, 3068 weight class) and Harris Mint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris Mint has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leandro Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harris Mint!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mint fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ribeiro looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Mint lands a jab.
Mint lands a right hook to the body.
Mint lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Ribeiro takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mint tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ribeiro was well out of range. Poor timing from Mint.
Ribeiro stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mint.
Mint takes a swing at Ribeiro's ribcage but misses.
Mint has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Mint lands an overhand right.
Mint turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Mint moves into range and connects with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ribeiro fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mint avoids it really well and circles away.
Mint throws out a counter right but Ribeiro avoids it with no problem.
Mint misses with an uppercut.
Ribeiro looks for a takedown but Mint sprawls well.

Ribeiro shoots in and gets a takedown into Mint's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mint is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ribeiro defends well.

Mint looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mint lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mint trying to control but Ribeiro is working from the bottom.
Mint with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Mint slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Ribeiro is letting Mint control him for a moment.
Mint lands some shots froms side control.
Ribeiro tries to bench press Mint off him but Mint keeps the position.

Mint tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ribeiro can't do much from the bottom here.
Ribeiro is looking for a sweep.
Ribeiro sneaks back into half guard.

Ribeiro is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mint scores with a couple of nice shots.
Mint has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Mint lands a heavy elbow.
Mint controlling his opponent.
Ribeiro tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ribeiro tries to hold on but Mint pushes him away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mint cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Mint tries to control but Ribeiro wriggling away.
Ribeiro tries to hold on but Mint pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mint landing strikes from the mount.
Mint with a couple of short strikes.
Mint prevents Ribeiro from getting the reversal.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mint with shots to the head and body - Ribeiro looks very uncomfortable down there.
Mint lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ribeiro hang on?
Mint scoring with strikes but Ribeiro is staying in there.
Mint controlling the position easily from mount.
Mint lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Ribeiro tries to hold on but Mint pushes him away.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Harris Mint dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mint takes one on the button.
Harris Mint seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ribeiro with a poor takedown
and Mint cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Good leg kick by Mint.
Mint connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mint but Mint pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mint catches Ribeiro with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Mint moves into range and connects with a jab.
Mint scores with a jab to the head.
Nice uppercut lands for Mint. That snapped Ribeiro's head back.

Ribeiro is rocked!
Mint fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ribeiro has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Oh Ribeiro is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ribeiro drops his hands momentarily and Mint takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Ribeiro walks into a jab.
Mint lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Ribeiro looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mint is fending him off so far but Ribeiro persists. Nope, Mint circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leandro Ribeiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ribeiro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mint tries to avoid it but Ribeiro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mint to the ground. Mint escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ribeiro seems to have got his legs back now.
Leandro Ribeiro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mint circles away from the clinch attempt
and Ribeiro takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mint scores with the left hand. Ribeiro knows he should have avoided that one.
Harris Mint is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mint throws out a powerful jab.

Mint lands a big uppercut and Ribeiro crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Ribeiro looks OK. Mint waves Ribeiro back to his feet!
Ribeiro takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mint jabs at Ribeiro's body.
Mint has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mint cracks Ribeiro with a hook to the temple - Ribeiro is on wobbly legs here! Mint swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Ribeiro falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Mint wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Harris Mint!
Harris Mint tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
