The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Kuroda is predictable there

and Stevenson counters with a shoot takedown. Kuroda fights it but they end up in guard.
Stevenson content to stall in guard here.
Stevenson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Stevenson 's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Kuroda can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stevenson controls the pace.

Stevenson is trying to work for a kimura but Kuroda is defending well.

Stevenson is working for a submission of some sort.

Stevenson wants to free his trapped foot but Kuroda is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Still in half guard, Stevenson seems content to control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stevenson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Kuroda tries to roll over but Stevenson keeps him under control.

Kuroda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Stevenson is taking a breather. Kuroda says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Stevenson moves into full mount! Kuroda won't be happy about that!
Kuroda is in a horrible position here. Stevenson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
