PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scooter Bob (ranked 332 p4p, 630 weight class) and Georges Moxley (ranked 53 p4p, 95 weight class). Moxley has chosen Andre Nickatina - Color of the Benz as his entrance music. Scooter Bob has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scooter Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Georges Moxley!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Moxley. That snapped Bob's head back.
Bob throws a low kick but it's checked well by Moxley.
Moxley let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Moxley has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bob effectively controlling the action here.
Moxley is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Moxley throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bobs head.

Moxley is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bob doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Moxley.

Moxley takes a little break here. Bob wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Moxley is trying to work for a kimura but Bob is defending well.

Bob is bucking up trying to escape but Moxley cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Moxley goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Bob turns into him and now he's in Moxley's guard.

Bob postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Moxley throws a body shot but no joy.
Moxley's corner calls for a 1-2. Moxley obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Moxley looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bob definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Moxley has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Bob seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Moxley can turn it around.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Moxley connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bob's hands.

Bob feints and then cracks Moxley's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Moxley down.

Moxley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Moxley cracks Bob with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Bob was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and Moxley counters with a good, hard body kick but Bob shrugs it off.
Moxley moves out of range as Bob strikes.
It seemed like Moxley was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Moxley has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Moxley has a takedown stuffed.
Scooter Bob has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Georges Moxley.
Moxley throws a looping overhand right but Bob ducks down to avoid it.
Bob walks into a left hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Moxley fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bob looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Georges Moxley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Moxley is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bob to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bob shrugs it off.

Georges Moxley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Moxley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Georges Moxley spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
