Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Silva (ranked 1696 p4p, 2280 weight class) and Ramdin Bolsdeep (ranked 246 p4p, 327 weight class). Bolsdeep has chosen Sir Psycho Sexy, Red Hot Chilli Peppers. as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva lands a head shot.
Bolsdeep throws a leg kick that is checked
and Silva counters with a stiff right hand.

Bolsdeep throws a low kick but it's checked well by Silva.
Silva is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Silva bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bolsdeep's head.

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Silva shoots in and bounces Bolsdeep off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bolsdeep wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Silva is now in half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Silva's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bolsdeep is trying to control but can't.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Silva.

Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bolsdeep for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Silva has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Bolsdeep's body.

Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bolsdeep gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Silva is looking to cinch up a triangle. Bolsdeep throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Silva's body to avoid the submission. Silva has instead reached around Bolsdeep's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Silva arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
