The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown punishes Usman's body with a nice straight punch.
Brown looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Brown changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Brown shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Usman sprawls well. Usman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brown gets slowly back to his feet.

Brown moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Usman lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

John Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brown throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Usman was covering up waiting for the punch and Brown finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Usman tries to buck Brown off but Brown is having none of it.
The referee asks Brown politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Brown prefers to stall for the moment though.

Usman tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brown wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Brown is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Usman's shoulder. That is not cool.
Usman is looking to regain half guard here but Brown keeps moving and retains side control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Usman shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Brown throws a series of punches but Usman avoids them all with ease.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Brown will probably get the nod.
