Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Benji Lab (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aaron Davis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Benji Lab!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Davis!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Lab throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Davis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Davis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lab is looking to escape.
Davis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lab kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Davis is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Davis tries to control but Lab wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davis throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Lab because Davis loaded up on that one.
Lab wants to control but Davis is having none of it.
Davis controlling his opponent.
Davis looking to control but Lab is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Davis is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Lab is surviving well by controlling Davis's body position as best he can.
Davis tries to control but Lab wriggling away.

Lab is trying to escape the mount.
Davis sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Lab tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Davis trying to control but Lab is having none of it.
Lab is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lab avoids a series of strikes thrown by Davis.
Davis thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Lab is working to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Davis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lab is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Davis dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lab misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Davis.
Good exchange - Lab coming out on top.
Davis gets the takedown into side control.
Lab avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Davis.
Lab is trying to control Davis's posture but Davis avoids it.

Davis trying to control the action but Lab is working from the bottom.
Lab is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Davis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Lab managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Davis.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lab scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Davis wants to improve his position but Lab is controlling well.
Davis is breathing heavily.
Still in half guard, Lab seems content to control.
Lab not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Davis is trying to stand up here but Lab is controlling him well.
Davis keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Lab takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Benji Lab dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Lab swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Davis doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lab counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lab.
Lab controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lab knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Davis on the ground.
Davis throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Lab throwing strikes from guard but Davis blocks nicely.
Davis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lab is stalling in the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lab's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lab has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Davis wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lab seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Davis has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lab has passed into side control.
Davis is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lab controlling the position.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Benji Lab just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
A swing and a miss from Lab.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Davis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lab.
Davis moves away from the strike by Lab.
Lab feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Benji Lab showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Lab has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
