Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Balink Tarlah (ranked 3236 p4p, 2703 weight class) and Micah Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 349 weight class). Balink Tarlah has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Balink Tarlah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Micah Frank!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frank misses with a wild body shot.
Tarlah slips under a jab from Frank.
Tarlah uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Frank.
Frank lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Tarlah blocks a head kick by Frank.
Tarlah tries to counter with a takedown but Frank is quick to defend against it.
Frank throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Tarlah swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Frank throws a head kick but Tarlah moves out of range.
Frank feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tarlahs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Tarlah is trying hard to land a takedown here. Frank sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frank swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Frank throws a poor cross that misses

and Tarlah counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tarlah.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tarlah's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tarlah with a flurry of punches that miss.

Tarlah throws an elbow that misses. Frank uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tarlah's guard. Nice move by Frank!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Frank goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Balink Tarlah has been cut.
Frank slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Frank throws a shot from downtown. Tarlah moves away and avoids it.
A low kick from Frank misses

and Tarlah counters by clinching up.

Frank breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A good leg kick by Frank.
Frank connects with a crisp jab.
Micah Frank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tarlah uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Frank.
A nice leg kick from Frank, right into the meat of the thigh.
Frank throws a head kick that misses.
Frank throws a series of punches but Tarlah moves out of range.
Tarlah ducks under a wild hook from Frank.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Frank has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tarlah accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Frank really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tarlah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Balink Tarlah overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Frank won't allow Tarlah to sweep him here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Frank fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Tarlah throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Frank's waist but Frank gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tarlah off to one side.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Frank throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Tarlah attempts a counter takedown but Frank avoids it well and moves away.

Frank slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Tarlah shoots in looking for a takedown but Frank manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tarlah's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Balink Tarlah. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Frank throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Tarlah's head.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Frank is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Tarlah sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Frank is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Balink Tarlah will probably get the nod.

A lazy left from Frank finds it's target.

Tarlah feints and as Frank raises his hands in defense, Tarlah changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Frank wants to sweep but no luck.
Tarlah stands and throws Frank's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Tarlah wants to lay and pray for a moment but Frank keeps working.
Tarlah lands some shots froms side control.

Tarlah working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Tarlah throws a strike aimed at the side of Frank's head but Frank avoids it well.

Tarlah lands a nice forearm strike.

Well, if Tarlah is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Tarlah has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Frank has momentary wrist control but Tarlah slips an elbow through the middle.
