The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahoney throws a jab when Silva was well out of range.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Silva wants to clinch up but Mahoney keeps it at a distance.
Silva tries to clinch there but Mahoney circles away.
Mahoney connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Silva is rocked!

It looks like Andersson Silva has been cut.
Silva fails in his attempt to clinch.
Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mahoney keeps the fight on the outside.
Silva seems to have got his legs back now.
Silva walks straight into a right hand from Mahoney - that's dropped him! Mahoney jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Silva from any more punishment! Silva complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
