Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paulie Glutton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Gill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glutton has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Paulie Glutton has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glutton throws a lazy right hand but Gill sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Glutton is breathing heavily.
Glutton misses with a looping right.
Gill throws an overhand right that lands on Glutton's shoulder, as Glutton tries to avoid the shot.

Gill scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gill is staying tight to Glutton's torso, preventing him from escaping.
I looks like Gill might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Glutton pushes Gill away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gill gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Glutton on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Glutton tries to get out of the position.
Gill remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Gill closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Glutton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Paulie Glutton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gill changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Glutton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Glutton is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gill connects with a decent elbow.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gill is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Glutton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Gill's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Gill is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

John Gill showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Glutton.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gill in particular looking to stall.

Glutton could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Gill shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gill was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
