Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fancy Feast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orlando Cardigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orlando Cardigan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fancy Feast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Orlando Cardigan!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Feast tries to clinch but Cardigan is having none of it.

Cardigan drops back looking for a leg! Feast is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Feast manages to kick Cardigan off! Cardigan jumps back into Feast's guard.
Feast utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Feast throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Feast tries to clinch there but Cardigan circles away.
Fancy Feast seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cardigan throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Feast's head.

and Cardigan makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Feast really felt that one!

Feast gets caught flat footed, as Cardigan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Cardigan wants to pass the guard but Feast is keeping the position.
Cardigan advances position into side control!
Feast knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cardigan on the ground.

Cardigan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Feast has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cardigan but great work by Feast.
Cardigan manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Cardigan is pressing down on Feast's thigh, looking to free his foot. Feast is holding on for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cardigan wants to control but Feast is keeping him busy.

Cardigan moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Feast has worked his arm free - good work by Feast!
Feast is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Feast is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Cardigan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Feast knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Cardigan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cardigan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Feast looks to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Feast gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cardigan tries to free his leg and advance position but Feast is retaining full guard.

Cardigan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cardigan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
