PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between J Gay G (ranked 2918 p4p, 1386 weight class) and Nick Shamrock (ranked 285 p4p, 154 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gay G might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Down. Shamrock is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: One Winged Angel by The Black Mages. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gay G comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Shamrock has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Shamrock takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Gay G throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shamrock's waist but Shamrock gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gay G off to one side.

Horrible takedown attempt by Gay G or perhaps it was just good defense by Shamrock, which made it look bad.

Shamrock gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Shamrock bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gay G's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that J Gay G will probably get the nod.

Shamrock throws a pinpoint strike between Gay G's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Gay G crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Shamrock scores a great knockout victory!

Nick Shamrock decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
