PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bull Mfer (ranked 348 p4p, 505 weight class) and Rhymin Slayin (ranked 56 p4p, 77 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bull Mfer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rhymin Slayin!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Mfer.
Slayin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Mfer moves into the clinch.
Slayin scores with a shoulder strike.
Slayin landing knees to the head.

It looks like Bull Mfer has been cut.
Slayin avoids the elbow strike from Mfer, against the cage.
Slayin digs a right hand into Mfer's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Mfer's gas tank.
With the fighters up against the cage, Mfer throws an elbow but misses.
Slayin cracks Mfer with a nice body shot.

Mfer is breathing heavily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Slayin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Slayin lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Slayin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mfer has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Slayin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Slayin stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Mfer seems to have got his legs back now.
Slayin lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mfer backwards.
Mfer takes a shot to the head.
Mfer tries to stall but Slayin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Slayin creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Mfer with a big uppercut! Mfer tries to clinch up but Slayin pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Mfer to the mat! Mfer covers up and Slayin unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

In his post fight interview, Rhymin Slayin started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
