Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
City misses with a looping right.
City changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Iron City seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A lazy left from City finds it's target.
Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. City looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
City can't do much from the bottom here.
City gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
City trying to control but Gracie postures up.
City is defending against the submission attempts here by Gracie.

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but City is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

City has the hooks in. Gracie is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

City throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fighters circling - City throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

City will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That was a close round but I would say that Iron City will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Gracie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from City finds it's way round the side to connect with Gracie's head.

Gracie has control of City's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and City regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie has hold of City's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and City manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

City bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

City trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
City is really struggling to control Gracie but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Gracie has his foot on City's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. City works his way back into a safe position though.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Gracie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from City.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
City is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.
City misses with a wild body shot.
Gracie uses good head movement to avoid the hook from City.
City just misses with a punch to the body.
Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
City misses with a series of wild punches.
City lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gracie backs up against the cage.
City rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Gracie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
City lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
City tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from City.
City lands a really nice looking cross but Gracie seems unphased.
City throws a hook but Gracie avoids it easily.
Gracie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by City.

Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Gracie tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

City has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Gracie has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Gracie is trying to stick to City's back but City is turning into Gracie. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gracie's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by City.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Iron City.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for City, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
