Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Benz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parker's entrance music is Dead N Gone. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Benz!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benz cracks Parker with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Parker throws a nice outside leg kick.
Parker throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Parker looks to land a combination. Benz sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Parker misses with a head kick.
Benz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Parker. Parker obviously looking to wear him down.
The fighters circling - Benz throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Parker cracks Benz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A nice leg kick lands there from Parker.

Parker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Benz checks the leg kick nicely there.
Peter Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Parker buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Benz checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Benz lands with an uppercut that bounces Parker off the cage and back into rage.
Benz throws the left hand but Parker avoids the punch easily.
Parker wants to land a leg kick but Benz is out of range.

Good leg kick by Parker there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Parker throws a right and a left that both miss.
Parker listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Parker lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Benz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Benz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Parker lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Parker.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Parker misses with the combination.
Benz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Parker is breathing heavily.
Benz cracks Parker with a good jab.
Parker misses with a low kick as Benz jumps back.
Parker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Benz swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Benz stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Parker fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Benz.
Parker throws a solid leg kick but Benz takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Parker.

Parker throws a right hand that Benz ducks under and follows up with a left that Benz also avoids with ease.

and Benz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Parker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Benz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Parker fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Benz is out of range.

Parker is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Benz.

Parker walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Benz checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Benz tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Benz counters with a shoot takedown. Parker fights it but they end up in guard.
Parker wants to sweep but no luck.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Benz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Parker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Benz can do anything to dispel that myth.

Parker throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Benz because Parker loaded up on that one.

Benz tries to lock up and control but Parker gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Parker lands a big shot there that rocks Benz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Parker misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Mike Benz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Benz throws a looping overhand right but Parker ducks down to avoid it.
Benz digs a good body shot into Parker's ribs.

Benz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Parker's guard.
Benz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Parker's head.
Parker manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Parker blocks Benz's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Parker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Benz is looking to escape.

Parker swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Benz is now in Parker's guard. A big mistake from Parker there, giving up the dominant position!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Benz is looking to work some ground and pound but Parker has wrist control.

Parker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Benz is one step ahead there.

Parker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Benz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Benz won't allow Parker to sweep him here.
Parker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Benz postures up and lands a big shot to Parker's brow.
Parker looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Benz puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Parker wants to control but Benz is keeping busy.

Benz winds up and cracks Parker with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Benz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Parker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Parker tries to roll over but Benz keeps him under control.
Parker tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Benz has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Benz lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Parker hang on?

BOOM! Benz connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Benz fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parker can't escape the position.
Benz raining down shots from the mount!
Oh Parker is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Well Benz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
