Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cecilia Roughknight (ranked 2449 p4p, 2308 weight class) and Maria Cortez (ranked 148 p4p, 136 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez ducks right into an uppercut from Roughknight.
Roughknight definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Cortez doesn't manage to clinch there - Roughknight circles away.
Roughknight cracks Cortez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Roughknight throws a lazy right hand but Cortez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Cortez wants to counter with a clinch but Roughknight pushes him away.
Cortez blocks a jab.
Cortez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Roughknight just misses with a punch to the body.
Cortez is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Roughknight misses with a double jab.
Cortez slips a straight right by Roughknight.
Roughknight misses with a body shot.
Roughknight sets himself, and Cortez steps forward looking for the clinch! Roughknight avoids it this time.
Cortez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Roughknight.
Cortez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Roughknight manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cortez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Cortez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Cortez jumps guard but Roughknight stands there with Cortez around his waist. Cortez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cecilia Roughknight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maria Cortez.
Roughknight misses with a hook to the ribs.

Cortez tries to pull guard but Roughknight forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cortez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Cortez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Roughknight's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Roughknight's back!

Cortez working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Roughknight is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Cortez has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Roughknight taps out!
