PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Green Bastard (ranked 2985 p4p, 5170 weight class) and Harry C Distacio (ranked 358 p4p, 463 weight class). Distacio has chosen Gravity Lies - Red as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Distacio with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Distacio has managed to clinch.
Bastard drops down looking for an ankle pick but Distacio pulls his leg out and moves away.
A slapping leg kick lands for Distacio.

Bastard manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Distacio on his heels. He'll look to pass Distacio's guard now, I'm sure.
Distacio looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Distacio wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bastard shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Distacio's guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bastard in particular looking to stall.
Bastard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Distacio keeps working.

Bastard jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Distacio walks away with a smile on his face. Bastard gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Distacio throws a leg kick which misses Bastard's front leg but catches the back leg as Bastard tries to avoid it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
