Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wally West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naozumi Akimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akimoto has chosen AudioMachine - Assassin as his entrance music. Naozumi Akimoto is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wally West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naozumi Akimoto!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from West. No joy for Akimoto on that attempt.
West throws a quick inside leg kick.
West throws a leg kick but Akimoto sees it coming and moves out of range.
Akimoto shoots in for a double leg but West sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
West doesn't manage to clinch there - Akimoto circles away.

It looks like Naozumi Akimoto has been cut.
West lands an elbow inside that Akimoto shrugs off.
Akimoto tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Wally West has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Naozumi Akimoto.

West wants to stand but Akimoto has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Akimoto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in West's guard.
West wants to get back to his feet but Akimoto is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Akimoto decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Akimoto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with West but West pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Akimoto wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

West has Akimoto pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. West pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Akimoto tumbling to the mat - West dives into Akimoto's guard.

Akimoto is looking for a triangle but West pushes his legs off easily.
Akimoto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for West!
Akimoto looking to control but West is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
West is trying to stand up.

Akimoto is fighting off a takedown attempt but West is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Akimoto to the mat. Akimoto regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

West fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Akimoto is out of range.
West is looking to land body kicks.
Nice takedown defense from West. No joy for Akimoto on that attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Akimoto throws a lazy right hand but West sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Akimoto shoots in looking for a takedown. West tries to sprawl out of it but Akimoto keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. West manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Akimoto takes a swing at West's ribcage but misses.
Akimoto keeps the fight on the outside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
West tries to close the distance and clinch up but Akimoto swats him away and circles back towards the center.

West throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
West fails to land with a series of punches.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Akimoto is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by West.
Akimoto swats away the attempt to clinch by West.
West keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Akimoto blocks a leg kick.
Horrible takedown by Akimoto or perhaps it was just good defense by West which made him look bad.
West throws the kick towards the body but Akimoto avoids it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Akimoto checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for West, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
