Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Rawse (ranked 2232 p4p, 3337 weight class) and Dez Havok (ranked 318 p4p, 442 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Rawse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dez Havok!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rawse is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Havok's half guard.

Havok looking for submissions off his back.
Rawse takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rawse blocks the strikes from Havok.
Havok is looking for a sweep. Rawse is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rawse is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Rawse seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Havok for as long as he can get away with.
Havok manages to get to full guard.
Rawse pushes down on Havok's leg and manages to get into half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rawse looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Havok actively working from the bottom here.
Havok tries to kick Rawse off but Rawse keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Some wild striking there from Rawse.

Rawse gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rawse is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Havok moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Havok throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rawse stands and throws Havok's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Rawse slows the pace down.
Rawse's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Havok prevents Rawse from improving position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rawse controls the position from side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

A head kick misses from Havok.
Dez Havok is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Havok bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Havok will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rawse attempts a counter takedown but Havok avoids it well and moves away.
Havok scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Havok throws a lazy right hand but Rawse sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rawse scores with a nice right hand.

Rawse shoots in and gets a takedown into Havok's guard.
Havok is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Rawse dives into side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rawse staying calm.
Havok is looking for a sweep.

Rawse content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Havok is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Rawse takes a little break here. Havok wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Havok is pushing Rawse's head away, looking to escape. Rawse manages to hold on to the position though.
Rawse is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Havok can do to turn this around?
Rawse is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Havok's shoulder. That is not cool.
Havok tries to buck Rawse off but Rawse is having none of it.
Rawse remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Further stalling from Rawse.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Rawse misses with an uppercut.
Havok connects with a high kick.
Rawse shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Havok but Havok pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Havok is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A punch combination from Havok misses.
Rawse shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rawse with a hook.
Havok with a nice cross.
Rawse avoids a punch combination nicely.
It looked like Rawse was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Havok lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Havok misses with a head kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Havok enables Rawse to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Havok manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Rawse is standing up over Havok. Havok looks to escape but Rawse dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rawse advances to mount.
Rawse tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Dez Havok will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Havok misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rawse.
Havok takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Havok takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Havok misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rawse wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
The fighters circling - Rawse throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Havok throws out a counter right but Rawse avoids it with no problem.

Rawse closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Havok tries to buck Rawse off but Rawse is having none of it.
Rawse tries to move to mount but Havok blocks the move with his legs.
Havok is trying to improve his position.
Havok is being controlled here.
Rawse cracks Havok with a big right hand but Havok just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Havok takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Havok is looking for a sweep.

Havok wants to get back to his feet.
Havok looks to move to half guard but instead Rawse has passed into mount! Damn!
Ricky Rawse overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Havok is trying to stand up.
Rawse has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Havok's face.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Rawse is stinking the place up with his stalling.
