Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Snapple Grapple (ranked 3608 p4p, 2355 weight class) and Michael Barnes (ranked 337 p4p, 242 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Snapple Grapple!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes misses with a straight right.
Barnes ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Barnes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Grapple closes the distance and clinches up with Barnes, looking for a takedown. Grapple pushes Barnes against the cage but Barnes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Barnes is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Barnes jabs Grapple to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Barnes scores with a jab to the head.
Barnes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Grapple was well out of range. Poor timing from Barnes.
Grapple tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Barnes manages to circle out of the way.
Grapple is looking to clinch but Barnes is avoiding it.
Grapple looks to land a left hand but Barnes moved out of range nicely.
Grapple has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Grapple bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Barnes looks to throw the jab but Grapple is out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Barnes. No joy for Grapple on that attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grapple tries to clinch up but Barnes circles away and keeps his distance.

Grapple ducks under a wild hook from Barnes.
Snapple Grapple seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barnes stuffs the takedown attempt from Grapple. Grapple gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Snapple Grapple. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barnes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Barnes ducks under a wild hook from Grapple.
Grapple wants to clinch.
Barnes looks to land a combination but Grapple avoids it well.
Grapple appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Grapple scores with a hook to the body. Barnes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Barnes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Barnes swats away the attempt to clinch by Grapple.
Barnes waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Grapple.
Grapple throws a lazy right hand but Barnes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Barnes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Grapple did well to prevent Barnes getting side control.

Grapple is defending against the submission attempts here by Barnes.
Grapple manages to get to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Barnes trying to control the position from guard on top but Grapple is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Grapple trying to keep a closed guard but Barnes is proving a slippery customer.
Barnes slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Barnes postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Barnes laying and praying for a moment but Grapple takes advantage and regains half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Barnes seems to be looking for submissions.
Barnes is trying to control. Grapple wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barnes tries to pass to full mount but Grapple defends it.
Grapple gets full guard.
Barnes wants to control from the top but Grapple keeps moving.
Grapple looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barnes postures up and lands a big shot to Grapple's brow.
Barnes looking to sit in guard and control but Grapple gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Barnes lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Grapple looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Grapple looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Barnes trying to control the position from guard on top but Grapple is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Barnes works over Grapple with some ground and pound from guard.

Grapple has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barnes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Grapple keeping full guard, as Barnes tries to pass.
Grapple is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Barnes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Grapple looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barnes is one step ahead there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Barnes dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Grapple dives in for a single leg takedown but Barnes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Barnes is trying to trip Grapple. He has hold of a leg but Grapple is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Barnes persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Barnes chips away with some ground and pound.
Barnes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Barnes trying to control the position from guard on top but Grapple is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Grapple escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barnes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Grapple tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Barnes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Barnes is posturing up here but Grapple has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Barnes tries to roll out but it's too tight and Barnes has to tap! Slick submission there by Grapple!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Snapple Grapple!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Snapple Grapple waved his t-shirt featuring Voodoo Nutrition's logo in front of the cameras.
