PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Elgin Turner (ranked 339 p4p, 2510 weight class) and Vos Zy (ranked 43 p4p, 251 weight class). Turner comes into the arena with Wu-Tang Clan - Da Mystery Of Chessboxin' blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zy misses with a low kick as Turner jumps back.
Turner was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Zy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Turner moves away.

That was a close round but I would say that Elgin Turner will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

And Zy responds with a good body kick, but Turner manages to step out the way in time.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Turner here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Turner fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Zy has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Zy's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Zy lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Turner has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Turner and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Zy stalks Turner and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Turner's face. Turner staggers backwards, shaken.

Zy drops his guard momentarily, allowing Turner to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Zy! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! Turner takes it!
