Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BIshop Bonesteel (ranked 1248 p4p, 1386 weight class) and Patrick Mahomes (ranked 170 p4p, 189 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Mahomes. Bonesteel does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mahomes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bonesteel thinks about countering with a body kick.

and Bonesteel counters with a series of strikes. Mahomes will be more careful next time no doubt.

A nice side step and Mahomes releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Bonesteel throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mahomes on the side of the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mahomes now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

It looks like Bonesteel has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bonesteel lands a really nice looking cross but Mahomes seems unphased.
Bonesteel tests Mahomes's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bonesteel's corner calls for a 1-2. Bonesteel obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
