PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hyoga de Cisne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samoht Tommyboy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samoht Tommyboy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Samoht Tommyboy!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tommyboy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but de Cisne paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tommyboy misses with a takedown attempt - de Cisne sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
de Cisne fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Tommyboy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and de Cisne counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
de Cisne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tommyboy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
de Cisne wants to control from the top but Tommyboy keeps moving.
de Cisne lands a couple of elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
de Cisne slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tommyboy throws a body punch but de Cisne moves out of range.
de Cisne really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
de Cisne is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tommyboy.
Tommyboy fails to land with a series of punches.
de Cisne circles away from the clinch attempt.
de Cisne shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tommyboy pinned against the cage. Tommyboy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tommyboy shoots and misses

so de Cisne counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hyoga de Cisne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samoht Tommyboy.
de Cisne wants to pass the guard but Tommyboy is keeping the position.
de Cisne distracts Tommyboy with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

de Cisne passes Tommyboy's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Tommyboy tries to roll over but de Cisne keeps him under control.
de Cisne looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
de Cisne has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
de Cisne fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
de Cisne connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Tommyboy tries to hold on but de Cisne postures up.

de Cisne swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Tommyboy is now in de Cisne's guard. A big mistake from de Cisne there, giving up the dominant position!
de Cisne is breathing heavily.

Tommyboy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Tommyboy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
de Cisne throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

de Cisne has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Tommyboy is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for de Cisne.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
de Cisne avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Tommyboy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hyoga de Cisne dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Tommyboy misses with a knee strike.
Tommyboy prevents a takedown attempt there.

de Cisne is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tommyboy gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Tommyboy is trying to drag de Cisne to the mat but de Cisne just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Tommyboy is trying to break the clinch but de Cisne has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tommyboy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Tommyboy can't get the takedown.
de Cisne has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Tommyboy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hyoga de Cisne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tommyboy has had enough of the clinch but de Cisne keeps him there for the moment.

Tommyboy is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. de Cisne can't fight it off and eventually Tommyboy manages to take the fight to the floor. de Cisne looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

de Cisne is looking to sinch up a triangle. Tommyboy throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to de Cisne's body to avoid the submission. de Cisne has instead reached around Tommyboy's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! de Cisne arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
