Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Hamadou (ranked 4358 p4p, 23699 weight class) and Miller Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller Salazar will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hamadou feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Salazar pushes Hamadou off and scrambles back to his feet.

Salazar closes the distance and clinches up with Hamadou, looking for a takedown. Salazar pushes Hamadou against the cage but Hamadou circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hamadou changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Salazar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Salazar parries the strikes from Hamadou easily there. Hamadou is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Salazar to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hamadou trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Hamadou knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Salazar on the ground.
Hamadou pushes Salazar away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Salazar gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Salazar is persistently looking for the submission but Hamadou is defending it well.

Hamadou fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Salazar sprawls well initially but Hamadou persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hamadou lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Salazar quite badly. Salazar pulls Hamadou in close trying to recover. Hamadou postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Salazar on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Salazar doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
