Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deair Shaw (ranked 4165 p4p, 3914 weight class) and Brock Resnar (ranked 492 p4p, 465 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Deair Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brock Resnar!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Resnar.
Resnar throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Shaw misses with a takedown attempt - Resnar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Resnar lands a leg kick that knocks Shaw off balance momentarily.
Resnar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Shaw dives in and grabs Resnar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Resnar pushes down on Shaw's head and hops out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Resnar darts in and clinches Shaw up against the cage.

Resnar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shaw shoots in for a takedown but Resnar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Resnar pushes Shaw off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Shaw throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Resnar counters with a left and a right that stings Shaw.
Shaw is breathing heavily.
Resnar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shaw.
Shaw misses with a body punch
and Resnar counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Resnar should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Shaw throws a left and a right that both miss

and Resnar counters with a crisp one two that drops Shaw! Resnar thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Shaw to his feet! Shaw is in big trouble!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shaw stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shaw wants it to stay on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Resnar.

Resnar fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shaw, pushing him back against the cage.

Resnar pulls guard.
Resnar pulls Shaw in close to prevent any damage.
Resnar throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Resnar has eaten all the pies!
Resnar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shaw's guard.

Resnar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Resnar is pushing down on Shaw's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shaw is fighting to maintain full guard but Resnar has managed to sneak the leg through.

Shaw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Resnar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Shaw is looking for a sweep. Resnar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Shaw is working hard here to advance position.
Resnar stalling.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Resnar drops an elbow to the side of Shaw's head.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shaw is defended easily by Resnar.

It looks like Deair Shaw has been cut.
Resnar fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Shaw is looking to clinch but Resnar is avoiding it.
Resnar is looking for the big counter here.

Resnar rushes Shaw and presses him up against the cage.

Resnar drags the fight down to the ground.

Resnar manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Shaw wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Resnar jumps guard but Shaw stands there with Resnar around his waist. Resnar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Deair Shaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Resnar.
Resnar has Shaw pushed against the cage.

Shaw is trying to pull guard but Resnar turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Shaw is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Resnar pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Shaw has had enough of the clinch but Resnar keeps him there for the moment.

Resnar shoots in for a double leg but Shaw sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Resnar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shaw is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Resnar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Deair Shaw is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Resnar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shaw tries to avoid it but Resnar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shaw to the ground. Shaw escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shaw wants to clinch up but Resnar keeps it at a distance.
Resnar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shaw is fending him off so far but Resnar persists. Nope, Shaw circles away and we're back to standing.
Resnar keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Resnar raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Resnar jumps guard but Shaw turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Shaw tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Deair Shaw has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Brock Resnar is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Shaw misses with a punch to the body.

Brock Resnar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Resnar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
