Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mario Santos!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lahey staying out of range there.
Lahey avoids the body shot from Santos.
Lahey swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

and Santos counters with a stiff right hand.
We've been told by Lahey's head coaches at Shao Kahns Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Santos swats away the attempt to clinch by Lahey.

Lahey moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Santos stuns Lahey with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Lahey takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

and Santos counters with a straight right hand.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Santos creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Santos moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Lahey doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Lahey counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
