Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Vos Zy (ranked 2445 p4p, 19622 weight class) and James Kirk (ranked 249 p4p, 458 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vos Zy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Kirk!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirk tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kirk tries to clinch but Zy is having none of it.
Zy goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like James Kirk has been cut.
Kirk steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Zy.
Good work by Kirk as he checks the leg kick.
Zy swings for the body but Kirk moves out of range.
Zy shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Zy cracks Kirk with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Kirk throws a lazy right hand but Zy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Zy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kirk.
Zy scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Zy takes a swing at Kirk's ribcage but misses.
Zy throws a low kick but Kirk avoids it.

Kirk gets a clinch.
Zy lands a hook that snaps the head of Kirk backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kirk lands with a right to the head.
Zy misses with a body punch.
Zy's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Zy breaks from the clinch.
Kirk wants to clinch up but Zy keeps it at a distance.
Kirk avoids a kick to the body.
Kirk has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Zy tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kirk is able to avoid easily.
Kirk misses with an uppercut.
Zy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Kirk moves into the clinch successfully.

Zy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kirk blocks a head kick by Zy.
Kirk catches Zy with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Kirk throws a body punch but Zy moves out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zy lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kirk takes a step back to recover.
Zy throws a right and a left that Kirk avoids nicely.
Zy on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Kirk tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Zy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kirk connects with a jab.
Zy drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A big right from Zy misses.
Kirk tries to clinch but Zy is having none of it.
Zy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A decent looking cross lands there for Zy.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kirk looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Zy gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kirk fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Zy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kirk throws the left hand but Zy avoids the punch easily.
Kirk takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Kirk closes the distance and clinches.
Zy tries to throw a body punch but Kirk avoids it by throwing Zy back against the ropes.
Zy tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Zy misses with the head strike.
Zy goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Zy scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Zy lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Zy lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Kirk or not.
Zy works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
A head punch on the inside from Zy fails to land.
Zy lands with a short shot to the head.
Kirk tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kirk misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Kirk throws a head punch that misses.

Kirk has a couple of punches blocked by Zy.
Zy lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Kirk tries to throw a body punch but Zy avoids it by throwing Kirk back against the ropes.

Kirk tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

I was talking to Zy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kirk misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Zy misses with a short punch on the inside.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vos Zy will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on James Kirk's cut.
That's time! Zy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kirk swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kirk is still on wobbly legs! Can Zy finish him?
Zy knocks out Kirk with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Zy before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Zy picks up the big W with a huge KO!
