Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Everest Frank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nikita Yashin!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yashin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Frank will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Yashin is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Frank with a body shot.
Frank fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yashin avoids it really well and circles away.
Yashin tries to counter by closing the distance.
Yashin lands a body shot.
Everest Frank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yashin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yashin wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Everest Frank. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Frank tries for a takedown but Yashin circles away easily
and Yashin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Frank thinking.
Frank has been working on his balance at Thib's Sweat Shoppe, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Yashin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Everest Frank has been cut.
Frank tries to clinch but Yashin moves away
enabling Yashin to counter with a crisp jab.
Yashin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Frank misses with a takedown
and Yashin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Yashin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Frank takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Frank is breathing heavily.
Frank shoots in but Yashin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Yashin swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Yashin has managed to clinch.
Yashin lands with a left to the head.
Yashin lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Frank backwards.
Yashin lands a left hand.
Yashin lands a shoulder strike.
Frank swings wildly with an uppercut but Yashin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Yashin lands a right hand.
Frank fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Yashin is trying to break the clinch but Frank has him pressed against the cage.
Yashin lands with a short shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yashin lands a body punch.
Frank leaning against his opponent.

Frank blocks an uppercut.
Yashin lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Frank has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Yashin after a bit of a struggle.
Frank misses with a body punch.
Yashin gets through Frank's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Yashin misses with a punch on the inside.
Yashin softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Yashin can't find room to land a body shot as Frank controls the action.
Frank looking to slow down the pace here.
Yashin gets underhooks to prevent Frank's takedown attempt.
Frank drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Frank's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
A nice right hand lands inside from Yashin.
Yashin is leaning against Frank and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Yashin misses with a hook from the clinch.
Yashin pushes Frank back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Frank turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Frank manages to end up in side control.
Yashin is trying to control Frank's posture but Frank avoids it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yashin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Frank wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Yashin is working to avoid the ground and pound but Frank connects with a decent elbow.
Frank has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Yashin is looking for a sweep.
Frank lands a nice forearm strike.
Yashin is looking to regain half guard here but Frank keeps moving and retains side control.
Frank creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Yashin can't do much from the bottom here.
Yashin is working to avoid the ground and pound but Frank connects with a decent elbow.
Frank cracks Yashin with a big elbow.
Frank will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Yashin tries to buck Frank off but Frank is having none of it.
Frank lands a strong strike to the head of Yashin. That's dazed him! Frank looking to finish here. Yashin is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Frank lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Everest Frank!
After winning the bout, Everest Frank thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
