Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Miguel Harper!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 42 - 27 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yoshihiro Asai !
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Harper.
Harper throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Asai swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Harper tries a head kick but it misses.
Harper lands a lovely overhand right.

It looks like Yoshihiro Asai has been cut.
Asai scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Asai scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Asai scores with a crisp jab that stopped Harper in his tracks.
Asai fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Harper looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Harper has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Harper uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Asai takes a jab right on the kisser.
Harper scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Asai doesn't seem bothered though.
Harper rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Harper ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Asai moves away.
Miguel Harper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Asai lands with a nice body kick.
Asai scores with a leg kick.
Asai walks into a left hand.
Asai connects with a crisp jab.
Harper looks to score with a jab to the body but Asai is just out of range.
Asai lands a really nice looking cross but Harper seems unphased.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A jab from Harper misses.
Asai moves out of range of the strikes.

Harper feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Asai sprawling to the canvas! Asai rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Harper finish him?!

Asai is rocked!
Asai drops his hands momentarily. Harper doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Asai staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Asai doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Miguel Harper!

A relieved looking Miguel Harper thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Yoshihiro Asai was interviewed post fight and said 'Ill Train Harder And Win My Next Fight'.
