Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mariano Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Amaral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mariano Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Amaral!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castro misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Castro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A jab-cross combination lands for Castro and sends Amaral crashing to the mat! Castro follows him down to the mat - Amaral regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Amaral is rocked!


It looks like Pedro Amaral has been cut.
Castro throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Amaral is still in real trouble! Can Castro finish him?

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Castro closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Amaral escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Castro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Castro is landing with some decent strikes but Amaral is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Castro is trying to stand up here but Amaral is controlling him well.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mariano Castro.
Well Castro has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
