Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Hadley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sutarjo Sukarman!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sukarman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hadley quickly recovers to half guard.
Hadley is positioning himself well to prevent Sukarman advancing to mount.

Hadley tries to roll over but Sukarman keeps him under control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hadley manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hadley holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sukarman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hadley looking for a sweep. Not yet Hadley, not yet.

Sukarman is fighting to break Hadley's control of his arms but Hadley is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Sukarman forces Hadley back against the cage and clinches.

Sukarman has clasped his hands together around Hadley's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Sukarman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.

Hadley is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sukarman's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Hadley is looking to improve his position.
Hadley regains full guard. Nicely done.

Hadley is controlling Sukarman's posture.
Hadley looking for a sweep. Not yet Hadley, not yet.
Hadley seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Hadley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sukarman manages to get himself to full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hadley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Hadley tries to pass to full mount but Sukarman defends it.

Hadley wants to control but Sukarman is keeping him busy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sukarman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sukarman tries to kick Hadley off but Hadley keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Hadley feints and as Sukarman raises his hands in defense, Hadley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sukarman is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Hadley rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Hadley manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Sukarman keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Sukarman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hadley shoots in for a takedown but Sukarman shows good takedown defense.
Sukarman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Sukarman shoots in looking for a takedown but Hadley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sukarman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hadley is defended easily by Sukarman.
Sukarman tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Hadley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sukarman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hadley as he avoids it easily.

Sukarman throws a fast counter high kick but Hadley manages to duck under it in time.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sukarman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sukarman with the counter takedown but Hadley avoids it easily.
Hadley tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sukarman defends well and Hadley ends up having to push Sukarman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sukarman pulls guard effortlessly.
Sukarman is striking but Hadley is not phased and passes to half guard.
Hadley is taking a breather. Sukarman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Hadley moves nicely into side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alex Hadley will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Hadley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sukarman tries to avoid it but Hadley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sukarman to the ground. Sukarman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hadley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sukarman to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Alex Hadley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sukarman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hadley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sukarman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alex Hadley.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hadley, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
