Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Ragout Mendy (ranked 2682 p4p, 3813 weight class) and Jon Horn (ranked 365 p4p, 467 weight class). Jon Horn has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Pierre Ragout Mendy's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horn connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Mendy's hands.
A solid leg kick lands there for Horn.
Horn throws a quick inside leg kick.
Horn throws a head kick but Mendy moves out of range.
Mendy changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Mendy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Horn doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Horn's corner calls for a 1-2. Horn obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Mendy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Horn.
Mendy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Horn pushes Mendy up against the cage in a clinch.

Horn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mendy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Horn's guard.

Horn is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mendy is controlling him well.

Mendy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Horn, who protects the arm well.

Horn lands a right hook to the body.
Mendy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Horn manages to avoid it.
Jon Horn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mendy misses with a takedown attempt - Horn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Horn fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Mendy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Horn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Horn connects with a right hand. Mendy shakes it off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Oh Mendy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mendy takes a swing at Horn's ribcage but misses.

Mendy throws a wild body kick that Horn sees coming a mile off.
Mendy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Horn pinned against the cage. Horn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pierre Ragout Mendy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Horn counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Horn closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Mendy! Horn dives in looking to finish! Mendy is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
