PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nico DiAngelo (ranked 4597 p4p, 23571 weight class) and Joao Da Silva (ranked 493 p4p, 558 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
DiAngelo looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
DiAngelo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Da Silva cracks DiAngelo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Da Silva throws a hook but DiAngelo blocks it.
DiAngelo fails with the takedown.
Nice straight punches there by Da Silva. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Da Silva.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Da Silva cracks DiAngelo with a right hand to the side of the head.
DiAngelo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A little jabbing left from Da Silva on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Da Silva feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits DiAngelos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
DiAngelo fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nico DiAngelo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and DiAngelo counters with a low kick, right behind Da Silva 's knee.
DiAngelo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Da Silva lands a head shot.

DiAngelo gets a double leg takedown into Da Silva's guard.
Da Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
DiAngelo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
DiAngelo wants to control from the top but Da Silva keeps moving.

DiAngelo drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says DiAngelo as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Da Silva screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with DiAngelo! Nice submission victory there!
