PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Le Boulder (ranked 3857 p4p, 1902 weight class) and Choto Kanabe (ranked 129 p4p, 64 weight class). Le Boulder comes to the cage accompanied by Monty Python Lumberjack Song. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Choto Kanabe!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Le Boulder seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kanabe for as long as he can get away with.

Le Boulder takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Le Boulder tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kanabe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Le Boulder paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Le Boulder is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kanabe can do to turn this around?

Le Boulder throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kanabe was covering up waiting for the punch and Le Boulder finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Kanabe is looking for a sweep. Le Boulder is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kanabe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Le Boulder manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Le Boulder controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Le Boulder might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kanabe is trying to control the position but Le Boulder postures up.

Le Boulder remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Le Boulder is stinking the place up with his stalling.

You can see the frustration on Kanabe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bob Le Boulder showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Le Boulder, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
