Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tsuyoi Kakuto (ranked 5505 p4p, 16305 weight class) and Dmitri Zaitsev (ranked 96 p4p, 237 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kakuto might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gorillaz-Dirty Harry. Tsuyoi Kakuto could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dmitri Zaitsev's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tsuyoi Kakuto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dmitri Zaitsev!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zaitsev has Kakuto up against the cage in a clinch.
Zaitsev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Zaitsev wants to sweep here but Kakuto controlling him for the moment.
We've been hearing good reports from Kakuto's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kakuto tries to keep at a distance but Zaitsev has taken the fight into the clinch.
Zaitsev is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kakuto gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Tsuyoi Kakuto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitri Zaitsev.

Zaitsev closes the distance and clinches.

Kakuto ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kakuto no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Kakuto wants to get back to his feet but Zaitsev is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kakuto is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Zaitsev presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Zaitsev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kakuto walks away with a smile on his face. Zaitsev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kakuto has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Zaitsev clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kakuto stands up.
Tsuyoi Kakuto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kakuto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Zaitsev to the mat! Zaitsev manages to get full guard.

Kakuto throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Zaitsev tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kakuto is in Zaitsev's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Zaitsev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Zaitsev enables Kakuto to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Zaitsev manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Zaitsev gets caught napping as Kakuto dives in and scores a takedown. Zaitsev manages to retain guard.
Zaitsev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kakuto's guard.

Kakuto has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Zaitsev has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Kakuto is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zaitsev can do to turn this around?

Zaitsev closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Zaitsev lands in his opponent's guard.

Kakuto has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Zaitsev off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Zaitsev takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kakuto manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Zaitsev on his heels. He'll look to pass Zaitsev's guard now, I'm sure.

Kakuto bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Zaitsev just trying to survive but Kakuto is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Kakuto gets to his feet and calls for his opponent to stand and trade! Heeeere we go!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Zaitsev had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kakuto defends it easily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Zaitsev holds on and takes a little breather.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kakuto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Zaitsev to the mat! Zaitsev manages to get full guard.

Kakuto is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Zaitsev's half guard.

Zaitsev has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Kakuto escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Kakuto!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kakuto, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Tsuyoi Kakuto really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Knock Out Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
