PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Sobieski (ranked 1328 p4p, 1528 weight class) and George Peterson (ranked 189 p4p, 220 weight class). Sobieski kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Karnivool - Lifelike. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jan Sobieski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobieski throws a low kick but Peterson avoids it.
Peterson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sobieski swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Sobieski counters with a nice low kick that buckles Peterson's knee momentarily.
Peterson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Sobieski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Peterson pinned against the cage. Peterson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Peterson enables Sobieski to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Peterson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sobieski, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
