Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shade moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A swing and a miss from Shade.
Shade throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Assunicao slips a jab and a cross from Shade.
Shade lands with a slapping head kick.

Assunicao fails with a takedown attempt.
Shade looks to score with a jab to the body but Assunicao is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Assunicao will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Shade scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Shade lands with a cross.
Shade stalks Assunicao and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Assunicao's face. Assunicao staggers backwards, shaken.
Shade misses with a jab, cross combination.
A punch combination from Shade misses.
Assunicao is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Shade.
Shade tries a head kick but it misses.
Shade takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Shade is breathing heavily.
Shade fails with an attempt to clinch.
Assunicao darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Assunicao passes the guard and advances to mount!
Assunicao putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
It looks like Booka Shade has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Assunicao is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Shade can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Shade defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Assunicao.
Assunicao working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Shade looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Assunicao! Submission of the night perhaps?
