Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verme shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Magomedov as he jumps to the side.
Magomedov stuffs the takedown attempt from Verme. Verme gets slowly back to his feet.

Magomedov darts in and clinches Verme up against the cage.

Verme pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Verme throws a right hand that Magomedov ducks under and follows up with a left that Magomedov also avoids with ease.
Verme shoots in for a double leg but Magomedov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Magomedov 's coach down at WolfPac Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Magomedov 's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Giulio Verme. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Magomedov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Verme won't be happy with that.

Magomedov tries for a kimura but Verme is defending well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Magomedov works to advance to full mount. Verme defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Magomedov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Verme looks a forlorn figure.
Verme knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Magomedov on the ground.
Magomedov misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Magomedov working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Verme turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Magomedov off and cradles Verme's limp body as Magomedov celebrates with his corner.
