Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pyotr Alexandrovna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karelin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Russian National Anthem. Alex Karelin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karelin fails to land with a series of punches.
Alexandrovna uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Karelin.
Karelin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alexandrovna but Alexandrovna pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Karelin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alexandrovna looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Alexandrovna had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Karelin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Alexandrovna Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Karelin's back instead.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Alexandrovna gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Alexandrovna apologises and we restart here on the feet.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Karelin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Karelin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
