Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between thteve thnake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza comes into a darkened arena with his song building. X Gon Give it to Ya-DMX kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

thnake shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Souza's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

thnake thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

thnake drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and thnake jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Souza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but thnake can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
thnake stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Souza swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Souza manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. thnake manages to get himself to full guard.

Souza works his foot free and advances to mount.

Souza looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

thnake is working hard here to advance position.

Souza with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Souza wants to finish this one by submission but thnake is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Souza.
thnake sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Souza is working for a submission of some sort.

thnake gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Souza is looking to advance position but thnake won't allow it.
thnake slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Souza is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Souza drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Souza as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! thnake screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Souza! Nice submission victory there!
