Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Billy Johnson enters the cage!

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Mir has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though.
Johnson stops Mir from getting back to his feet.
Mir really is a fat lump.
Johnson is trying to control. Mir wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Well, if Johnson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson stalling away here and it's allowed Mir to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Mir working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Johnson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mir is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mir has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mir passes Johnson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Mir throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Johnson is looking for a sweep. Mir is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mir swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

A close round but Billy Johnson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Johnson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Johnson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mir kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Mir not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Johnson shoots in but Mir avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Johnson feints and as Mir raises his hands in defense, Johnson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mir is really struggling to control Johnson but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mir is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mir is trying to control the action in half guard but Johnson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mir circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mir shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Mir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Johnson wants to stand and escape but instead Mir has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Johnson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mir is controlling him.
Mir is standing up over Johnson. Johnson looks to escape but Mir dives into side control.
The ground and pound from Mir seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Billy Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Johnson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Mir has locked up a guillotine! Mir's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Johnson is holding on here and Mir must be using up a lot of energy. Johnson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Mir gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
