PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Bounty (ranked 2699 p4p, 2320 weight class) and Royce Gracie (ranked 371 p4p, 327 weight class). Gracie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Jiu Jitsu by Smoke Serpent. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jamie Bounty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Royce Gracie!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bounty forces Gracie back against the cage and clinches.
Gracie is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bounty pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Bounty breaks the clinch.

Bounty has Gracie up against the cage in a clinch.
Bounty is pressed up against the cage. Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bounty down to the mat. Bounty avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Gracie shoots for a takedown but Bounty saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jamie Bounty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royce Gracie.
Gracie takes one on the button.
Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bounty defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Bounty into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Gracie feints and as Bounty raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bounty manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A solid leg kick lands there for Bounty.

Bounty misses with a short punch on the inside.
Gracie has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bounty after a bit of a struggle.
Gracie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bounty is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Still in the clinch, Bounty scores with a nice short uppercut.
Bounty lands a right hand.

Bounty breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Bounty, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Bounty against the cage but Bounty circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Gracie has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bounty after a bit of a struggle.
Bounty lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Bounty throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gracies head.
Gracie is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Bounty gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gracie.

Bounty breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bounty but Bounty pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Bounty has closed the distance and engaged Gracie in a clinch.
Bounty is pressed up against the cage. Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bounty down to the mat. Bounty avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The fighters circle, before Bounty throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Gracie's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Bounty lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
