PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Yajson Rram (ranked 670 p4p, 1692 weight class) and Takeru Kubota (ranked 70 p4p, 175 weight class). Rram's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Overhaul. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeru Kubota!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Rram both land. Nice combination.
Nice defenses there by Rram.

Kubota is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kubota throws a series of punches but Rram avoids them all with ease.
Rram throws a push kick but Kubota slaps the foot to one side.

The fighters circling - Rram throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Kubota has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

That was a close round but I would say that Yajson Rram will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rram lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kubota has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kubota and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Rram lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kubota circles away quickly and effectively.

Kubota cracks Rram with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Rram is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Rram is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Rram could not beat the count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Takeru Kubota!
In his post fight interview, Takeru Kubota started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
