PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward Mills (ranked 2686 p4p, 22987 weight class) and Jedi Rebel (ranked 334 p4p, 658 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mills might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rock the Dragon. Dragonball Z. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Mills!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jedi Rebel!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rebel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mills is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rebel is controlling him.
Rebel preventing the sweep.
Rebel looking to sit in guard and control but Mills gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mills working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mills tries to stand but Rebel is controlling from the bottom.
Mills looking to pass the guard.
Rebel is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mills is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Mills stops Rebel from standing up.
Mills slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Rebel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Mills throws a right hand that misses

and Rebel counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mills controlling the position.
Mills controls Rebel momentarily but Rebel frees himself.
Mills wants to stand up but Rebel is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mills manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rebel manages to get himself to full guard.

Rebel wants to stand up but Mills is controlling him.
Mills postures up in Rebel's guard and throws a big left but Rebel blocks it.
Mills content to stall in guard here.
Mills has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Mills would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mills trying to control but Rebel is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mills misses with a hook.
And Rebel tries to counter it with a takedown but Mills pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Mills is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rebel is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Edward Mills is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rebel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mills's waist but Mills gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rebel off to one side.
Mills connects with a body shot.
Rebel tries to land a leg kick but Mills saw it coming and moves away.
An attempted straight right counter from Mills misses the target.

Mills tries to work over Rebel's front leg with a kick but Rebel checks it.
Mills is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Edward Mills seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rebel moves out of range of the leg kick from Mills.
Rebel shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Mills avoids the head kick by Rebel.
Mills misses the jab.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mills scores with a shoulder strike.
Rebel can't get the takedown.
Mills lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Rebel wants a takedown.
Edward Mills has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jedi Rebel.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mills slowing the pace effectively.
Mills scores with a shot to the side of Rebel's head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rebel shoots for a double leg takedown but Mills sprawls well. He's pushed Rebel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mills swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A big right from Mills misses.

Mills sends Rebel crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Mills is motioning to the referee to let Rebel up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Rebel is rocked!
Mills is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Rebel flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Rebel is out cold! Mills holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Edward Mills!
Post fight, an emotional Edward Mills said 'Donkey! Hare! Natti! Mr. Pickle did this for Suzy!!...I mean you peoples!!'.
